Four Years in Residorm
How many people can you meet, how many memories can you create? What feelings mark your first year, and how do they evolve by the fourth year? We asked our students…
Why did you choose to spend your university years at Residorm?
Nisa Nazlı Can, Kırıkkale: For me, its proximity to school was a big advantage. In terms of security, it’s the safest place in the area—I can even call it my home.
Gizem Eyüpoğlu, Muğla: Because the friendships I have made here are relationships I truly believe will last a lifetime. Also, my family wants me to stay here because they know it is a safe place.
Oğulcan Pur, Balıkesir: Because I found a warm, welcoming environment and they provide high-quality living and services.
Tunahan Yenidünya, Balıkesir: Actually, I’ve been at Residorm for five years. People ask, “Are you a permanent fixture here?” And I am. I’ve seen the building being constructed and remember when the commercial area was just a mulberry field. Comfort has kept me here for five years.
Sultan Başar, Muğla: When I first arrived, the dormitory wasn’t fully completed, but it was still a place I liked. The friendships I formed and the relationship with my roommate gave me a sense of family warmth. That’s why I’m still here.
Hüseyin Örgen, Kırıkkale: I’m here because of the location, the lifestyle, and the friendships. I’ve been here for four years, and I’ve been happy and peaceful all this time. I’m even happier with the constantly evolving services.
Burak Ayduran, Muğla: The main reason is that it’s on campus and very close to my faculty. I also don’t want to deal with utility bills, which is another reason.
Cemile Ertekin, Balıkesir: I chose Residorm for four years because it’s close to my faculty.
Yüksel Ahmet Orhan, Kırıkkale: It’s fun, the only place where a student can find what they are looking for, and it’s very close to my school.
Ahmet Yaylalıoğlu, Balıkesir: The main reason is that my family feels comfortable while I stay here. Another reason is that I’ve been sharing a room with my best friend for three years. Somehow, we can’t separate from this place.
Hande Başar, Muğla: Because I get along so well with my roommates. We’ve become like a family. Being on campus is also a factor.
How did you feel when you first arrived at Residorm?
Nisa Nazlı Can, Kırıkkale: At first, I was scared because I was away from my family for the first time. But as I gradually adapted to dorm life, that fear disappeared.
Gizem Eyüpoğlu, Muğla: At first, I was scared being away from my family, but those fears vanished as I got used to the dorm environment.
Oğulcan Pur, Balıkesir: I felt the confidence of being away from my family and standing on my own two feet.
Tunahan Yenidünya, Balıkesir: Payments… 🙂 It’s my fifth year now; it will end soon.
Sultan Başar, Muğla: I thought I would feel lonely at first, but seeing the warmth here eased my fears.
Hüseyin Örgen, Kırıkkale: I was very scared at first, but seeing the “This Is Your Place” sign on the wall gave me a sense of sincerity. Over time, the staff and environment reinforced that feeling.
Burak Ayduran, Muğla: I was anxious about being alone in a new city. That anxiety disappeared as I connected with friends and found family warmth in them.
Cemile Ertekin, Balıkesir: I initially felt very alone and wondered what I would do out here.
Yüksel Ahmet Orhan, Kırıkkale: I felt like a stranger at first, but eventually, we became like a family.
Ahmet Yaylalıoğlu, Balıkesir: I was very uneasy being away from home. The first year was tough, and I struggled to adapt. I went home every weekend. The following years were enjoyable; it took time to adjust.
Hande Başar, Muğla: I was worried I wouldn’t adapt. I was away from my family for the first time. But I got used to it thanks to Residorm’s warmth.
What was your funniest moment at Residorm?
Nisa Nazlı Can, Kırıkkale: Every moment here is fun rather than just funny. I never had a boring day. We’ve learned so much.
Gizem Eyüpoğlu, Muğla: In my first year, when the new common area floor had just opened, I didn’t see the glass behind me and walked into it while talking to my friends. Funny moments like that.
Oğulcan Pur, Balıkesir: I’ve had multiple funny moments at Residorm. Choosing one would be unfair to the rest.
Tunahan Yenidünya, Balıkesir: There are too many to mention… 🙂 But Ahmet was like our mascot. We played a trick involving a genie. The 8–10 person production was great. 🙂
Sultan Başar, Muğla: One day, I slipped in the corridor while running to class. I started laughing before anyone else. I found it very funny.
Hüseyin Örgen, Kırıkkale: Every moment here is fun and funny, so I don’t have a single moment to highlight.
Burak Ayduran, Muğla: On my first day, I locked my door and fell asleep. My roommate couldn’t get in, so security came. That shock is now a funny memory.
Cemile Ertekin, Balıkesir: During a crowded evening in the girls’ common area, I fell along with a chair, and everyone had a good laugh.
Yüksel Ahmet Orhan, Kırıkkale: We are university students, and every moment is fun.
Ahmet Yaylalıoğlu, Balıkesir: My roommate’s spoiled cheese created a stench. We opened all the doors in the corridor reacting to it. Some even fainted—definitely a funny moment.
Hande Başar, Muğla: I was watching a horror movie with my friends. The friend next to me got up screaming. I got scared, but it was a joke.
How would you describe Residorm in one sentence?
Nisa Nazlı Can, Kırıkkale: This is my place.
Gizem Eyüpoğlu, Muğla: Residorm is a perfect choice for unforgettable memories.
Oğulcan Pur, Balıkesir: Friendship, camaraderie, and countless other qualities I can’t list.
Tunahan Yenidünya, Balıkesir: If you are a student in Balıkesir, come and try it for even one year. I say this as someone who has studied here for five years.
Sultan Başar, Muğla: You can feel the warmth of home here.
Hüseyin Örgen, Kırıkkale: Like your slogan says, this is now my place.
Burak Ayduran, Muğla: Close to school, very nice.
Cemile Ertekin, Balıkesir: Residorm—This is Your Place! 🙂
Yüksel Ahmet Orhan, Kırıkkale: This is my place.
Ahmet Yaylalıoğlu, Balıkesir: If you are here with your loved ones, you can feel at home.
Hande Başar, Muğla: I think Residorm is the best way to connect with different people and cultures.
